KENT’S NEW PROFESSIONAL
OPERA COMPANY

Kent Chamber Opera was founded in 2020 by Terry John Bates to bring high-quality opera to venues across Kent.

We want our audiences to enjoy professional, inspiring, and compelling performances in intimate and local surroundings.

We believe opera should be presented as originally intended - moving, passionate, sometimes funny, spectacular, entertaining and, above all, accessible to all.

Our small but highly talented and motivated company gives us the freedom to look again at a wide variety of operas and bring a repertoire to Kent that offers audiences a broad range of performances in a friendly environment at a reasonable cost.

We will also be bringing a series of outreach events to local schools and educational venues, so that those who might never have considered going to a performance can experience professional opera for the first time.

We look forward to welcoming you in 2022 and beyond!
